What's Up Wednesday!

I've been wanting to get back on here and blog for awhile but I didn't really know where to begin, then I saw this link up and I thought it was perfect for the blog. Basically it's a list of questions that helps me sum up what we've been up to since I last blogged (in april, WHAT?) so here we go….

What we're eating
Summer food! I'm a very seasonal eater. I don't like heavy, "hot" food in the summer. I will still cook it because that is what most of my recipes are made up of, but usually I want something more light in the summer. So far my favorite summer meal this year has been Italian chicken with a side of okra and my yummy pasta salad! (I just read the post I wrote several years ago and I now add red onion to the pasta)

What I'm reminiscing about...

For some reason this year I have been LONGING to go to Disney World. I think because Eli is at such a fun age I know he would love it! I've been thinking a lot about past Disney trips and especially about the trip Luke and I took there on our first anniversary. I am hoping and praying that we get to go soon!

What I'm loving…
Summer! Just summer in general. We stay pretty busy in the summer but there is just a more "laid back"  feeling in the summer air. We've seen our families a lot this summer and had lots of fun activities that have kept the kids and I busy during the day. We go to the pool almost everyday and Eli is slowly but surely venturing away from just sitting on the stairs…swim lessons are helping.

What We've Been Up To…

Well Eli can now officially put "T-ball player" on his resume. His team the Cheetahs practiced once a week and had 1-2 games a week for the month of June. He of course loved it and we all loved watching him out there. At his very first game when he ran to first base for the very first time he made sure to slide into the base, he looked like a professional baseball player. Luke was the coach of the team and proved once again that he is good at everything he does! Anniston did pretty well at the games as long as she had plenty of snacks to keep her busy. It was a fun first experience and introduction into the sports world for our family.

What I'm dreading…
When August rolls around Eli will start "real" school. He will be in Pre-K and I am dreading it with every fiber in my body. He will just go 2 1/2 hours a day, but he will go everyday to an elementary school and it just seems too soon. TOO TOO SOON.

What I'm working on…

I'm always working on Scentsy stuff and we have an awesome special for people who join in June. If you've ever thought about joining email me and lets chat about this special!

What I'm excited about…

I'm so excited for our family vacation next month to Colorado! We haven't been in two years and it will be our first vacation since Anniston was born. We will meet up with Luke's parents in Colorado which will be so nice cause they are such a big help with the kids so Luke and I will actually get to have some "rest" time while on vacation. I can't wait for our trip!

What I'm watching/reading…

I always love a good Netflix binge…my latest show is Parenthood, I'm enjoying it. I don't seem to be in love with it like the rest of the world but it's filling the void of needing a show to watch at night.

What I'm listening to…

I'm always a little late to the game when it comes to ANYTHING, and this time around it's podcasts. I just discovered podcasts and I'm in love. It can be tricky finding time to listen to them because a lot of times in the car I can't hear anything over my precious children, but enjoy them so much when I get to listen to them. If you are a podcast person and you have a favorite, please share!

What I'm wearing...

My mom came and stayed with us last week and brought her sewing machine which meant lots of sewing projects (mainly for me and Anniston). She made this kimono for me and I love it so much! I've worn it a couple of times and gotten so many compliments. I wish she had passed her sewing knowledge down to me!

What I'm doing this weekend…
Nothing! Woo hoo! Well Eli does have his final tball game on Friday night but then Saturday and Sunday we don't have any plans. I'm sure we will grill some steak and spend a lot of time playing outside.

What I'm looking forward to next month…
I'm looking forward to just another fun summer month. We have our Colorado trip and several other fun things planned as well as just our regular summer days of hanging at the pool, playing outside and taking it easy!

What we are doing for the 4th of July…
Every year we spend the holiday with my mom's side of the family out at my aunt and uncles. We always cook out, visit, watch the kid's play and just have a great time. We look forward to it every year!
