For the month of October I am linking up with The Nester for blogging 31 days of blogging. I had seen this idea going around for awhile with fellow bloggers preparing their topics of October and I had decided not to do it.
But the more I thought about it, and the more I browsed other topics on The Nester's blog I decided it was something I wanted to do. For me.
While I don't have a huge readership on this blog I do have people who read it that I don't know. And sometimes I worry about blogging the "mundane" details of our lives because I don't want to bore people.
Which seems a little dumb considering this is my blog and my own personal journal.
I have a friend who made a commitement to blog every single day for an entire year. And she did it. And at times I found myself jealous of her because she would come on and just talk about her day, and yet I feel insecure when I want to come on here, on my own blog and just talk about my day.
So I'm using this 31 days of blogging prompt to finally use my blog to just journal.
Somedays I will have more than one post because I might have something else to blog about, while I'm also just wanting to journal our day.Somedays I might finally sit down at 11:30 and just type out a few sentences of how I'm feeling that day. I'm sure it will vary day to day.
I'm excited about this month, and excited to see what comes out of this. Who knows maybe I will make a commitment to blog everyday for a year? Probably not. But it will definitely be fun to do it for one month!
My blog serves many different purposes, and connecting to other people is one purpose that this blog serves, but for October I want to focus more on journaling and see what comes of it.
If you hae a 31 days of {something} topic swirling around in your head visit The Nesters blog and join us!
Hi Megan! I am participating in the 31 Days Challenge, and like you, my topic is journaling. I wrote out 31 journaling prompts and will write about one each day.
ReplyDeleteOne thing to keep in mind about blogging about everyday life is that other people's lives are always more interesting than your own...or so we think! Other people will find your mundane interesting if it's not something that they experience.
But I totally get what you're saying, because I feel the same way about why someone would want to read about my day at work or that I went shopping yesterday.
Sometimes that's just what blogging is about :)
Hmmm! I might have to try this... Would be nice to see if I can pull through and finish 31 days :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to do this too! But I know myself...I get all hyped up to try blogging everyday, and then I feel guilty when I don't get the chance everyday. Hmmm... I may just have to do it anyway!
