I can't believe that Eli has now been with us the same amount of time (give or take a few days) that he grew in my belly. That is so crazy to me.
Lately Luke and I have been talking about how having a baby makes every "cliche" come true.
You feel so corny saying that you don't know what life was like before the baby came, or you never knew you could love somebody so much or you have no idea how your heart doesn't explode with all the love it is holding....but it is all so so true. Doesn't make it any less corny though.
I have been going through my blog and reading entries that I wrote when I was pregnant. I am so thankful that I kept a blog while pregnant, so many funny and interesting memories in there. If you are pregnant or plan to be soon I highly suggest you journal the entire journey!
Eli, you are nine months old! Here is what you have been up to:
- You are into EVERYTHING. I don't get much done during the day because you need an eye on you every second. If I turn my back you have this way of darting off very quickly and getting into something that you aren't supposed to be in
- You put everything into your mouth. We have to watch you so closely
- You have started eating puffs and dried yogurt. You love them. You are still doing very well eating your baby food.
- You are still sleeping well, although sometimes it is hard to get you to nap. You have gotten into the habit of waking up at 2am. I am trying to break you of this.
- You loving going to the babysitter's house and you get excited
- You have started acting shy around strangers. You will put your head down to your shoulder and give a little half smile. It is adorable
- You are scared of dogs - we are working with you on this
- You are SO fun. Always smiling and laughing. Most nights we get sad when it is time for you to go to bed. We want you to stay up and play with us!
- You love your daddy and get so excited when he walks in the door from work
- You love music and you love to dance. You go into worship service at church on Sunday mornings and you immediately recognize dad on stage. You just watch him mesmerized the entire time.
- You pull yourself up on everything and are taking a few steps while holding on to the furniture.
- You already don't like to be held and want down to crawl on the floor if we are holding you
And now a little video, Luke and I have been clapping a lot around Eli thinking that he will picked it up soon. He usually just thought we were clapping for him and would just laugh and laugh. One afternoon randomly Eli started clapping so I filmed it to send to Luke at work.
Ignore my crazy voice and shaky camera. I had to stand the camera up so I could clap.

Oh the things you do to get your kids to do "tricks!"
What a sweet boy! I love reading his 'growing up' posts!
