As I mentioned on Sunday, I have officially entered the wonderful world of Weight Watchers, and I'm oddly excited about this new adventure.
I'm not sure how long I will do it, I'm not too far away from my "goal weight" but I love that I'm teaching myself how to limit myself and what true proportions are.
For far too long I've eaten until I've had that "full as a tick" feeling and that needs to stop!
Up until I popped a baby out of my body I was a girl who could pretty much eat what she wanted when she wanted. And then my metabolism disappeared when I gave birth. Not really sure how or why that happened.
But it did, and I've decided not to sit around and cry about it. Anymore.
I know lots of girls around here are apart of Weight Watchers so I thought it would be good to provide a place for us to share our tips, snack ideas, meal ideas, favorite websites for recipes, etc.
I've only been doing WW for a couple of days so far, so I'm very open to tips and ideas.
Here are two snack ideas I have found that I like so far:
The first is turkey pepperoni and string cheese:
This is a good and filling snack and is only THREE points! You can eat 17 turkey pepperonis for 2 points and the string cheese is 1 point. Thats a STEAL OF A MEAL if I do say so myself!
I'm a HUGE french onion dip fan. In fact several times while pregnant I would eat french onion dip out of a bowl with a spoon.
I wonder why I gained so much weight? Ahem.
BUT french onion dip MIX is 0 points so if you mix it with fat free sour cream it is only 1 point for 2 tablespoons. Eat that with some carrot sticks and you have an awesome healthy, low point, yet filing snack.
So those are my two snack ideas to share.
Do you have anything to share?
I'm excited that you are doing this post! I have been thinking about joining weight watchers to try and get my before baby body back.
ReplyDeleteI've never done it before, so I don't have any tips! But I hope to learn some. :)
Oh yum! I don't do WW, I do Sparkpeople, but am looking forward to discovering some new low fat snacks... May we share if we're not WW?
ReplyDeleteCxx
I've done WW in the past and have sort of started back up. I say sort of, because I didn't join, but I'm using all my old information books, etc. Thanks for sharing these snacks. I'm all over that pepperoni and cheese. Good luck!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I am really excited about these tips! I recently started WW after having Jack and am always looking for ways to mix it up!
ReplyDeletePS I never knew your blog title was a book until someone gave it to us :)
I am going to sign up for WW; these are great snacks!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently on my 3rd week with WWs and I LOVE it! I really feel like now I don't even think about making the more healthy choice. It just happens!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
On WW I loved zero fat Chobani plain yogurt with granola and raspberries. Still do! You can also do a yogurt parfait with some crushed graham crackers, zero fat yogurt and blueberries and raspberries on top. Put it in a wine glass for some pizazz!
ReplyDeleteI love the WW string cheese! That is my go-to snack.
ReplyDeleteUm, the french onion dip in FF sour cream idea is AMAZING! I'm totally doing that this weekend, only HA for trying to get myself to stick to 2 tbsp ;) hahaha
ReplyDeleteI don't have a blog to share, but my favorite low point snacks are
ReplyDeleteFiber One brownies (1 brownie = 2 points)
http://www.fiberone.com/product/90calories.aspx?key=fudge&CSRT=16101273825541478551
Celery with 1 tbsp Peanut butter = 2 points
Mango Pineapple Smoothie (fresh Mango & Pineapple, 1 Cup Ice, splash of fruit juice blended = 1 point)
Fruit! Lots and Lots of fruit.
Kettlecorn 94% FF popcorn (3 Cups = 3 points)
1/2 Cup Frozen Yogurt with fresh fruit topping (=3 points)
i am so excited that you joined WW. I am a lifetime member but had to go back this spring to get back to my goal weight. This new program is great. One thing that helped me out so much was all the fresh fruit you can have now for 0 points. Will love getting ideas from you and helping you out if you need suggestions. Excited for you.
ReplyDeleteSkinnytaste.com has GREAT recipes and all the points plus values!
ReplyDeleteI also love dottie's weight loss zone for restaurant values!
Skinny cow cheese and crackers and mrs kims magic pops are four for one point.
I'm excited for your weight watchers experience, and hope to join along as soon as I have this baby! After having a baby, you long to have your body back and to see a resemblance of ANY part of the old you once the baby is born.
ReplyDeleteI have done much better this pregnancy as far as watching not to indulge my cravings, but I can't wait to go back to working out and counting calories. (I am not one of those girls that LOVES being pregnant, and all of the curves that come with it).
Keep us posted on your success and for more recipes.
