He's Here!!!

Our sweet little Eli Tree made his debut at 12:31 on Wednesday March 9th.

He is 6 lbs and 8 oz. and 19 inches long.

We are so in love with our new son, we don't even know what to do with ourselves.

And just as predicted I had no idea whether I was in labor or not. I was feeling contractions for several days but had no idea if it was the "real deal" or not. Finally around 9:00 after my mom called and I answered the phone in tears from the pain and she told us we needed to get to the hospital asap.

We got to the hospital around 9:30 and Eli was born as 12:31, so it was a pretty quick process! I will write it all out and share our birth story soon.

Our families made it just in time to welcome Eli to the world. All night we were surrounded by our immediate family. It was such a joyous night.

I need to get some rest now. I haven't slept since Monday night. I keep trying to go to sleep but I can't quit staring at Eli, and holding him and kissing his precious cheeks. He is perfect. We are so thankful.

Oh, and all that hair we talked about??? Yeah, nothing. He has some hair, but not the dark hair we envisioned. It is hilarious!

I had intentions of looking "cute" for pictures but when my contractions started coming I had no desire what so ever to look cute. Beauty before pain does not apply during labor!!

What a whirlwind night!! I am so thankful for this sweet baby and for my husband who I fall in love with a little more everyday. He was definitely my rock through all the painful contractions and pushing this baby out. Watching him with our son, talking to him and just admiring him has brought tears to my eyes more than once already. He is going to be an amazing dad.

I still can't believe he is here!! He knew his momma and daddy were ready to see him!
