Week 18

I really want to blog about things other than just my weekly pregnancy update. Before I was pregnant I NEVER read these on other people's blogs. I know they are boring, but I am behind in EVERY area of my life and until I catch up the blog takes a back seat. Sad day.

So the update....Um, I kinda look huge in this picture. I feel like I have grown a lot this week, and it's not just me people around me have definitely noticed the growth. The picture above makes my belly look like a torpedo. We're gonna go ahead and blame that on the pants and not the air heads. Or candy corn. Or ranch dressing.

How Far Along: 18 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 5lbs

Maternity Clothes: All pants. No leggings yet, I wore a maternity shirt on Friday and I definitely looked bigger in the maternity shirt.

Gender: BOY!! Name to be announced soon. We have now moved up to 98% sure we are using it.

Movement: Yes! I am feeling more and more everyday. Right now it just feels like "gurgling" in my stomach. And I understand that "gurgling" is a noise and not a feeling but it is happening way too often to not be the baby. It's definitely baby boy Tree!

Sleep: I have been a restless sleeper this week. At the beginning of the week this was because of events I had at work that make me nervous and not pregnancy. Since the completion of my events I have been sleeping pretty good. Nothing like before I was pregnant.

What I miss: I miss being able to eat a deli meat sandwich whenever I want without heating it up or worrying about it. For those not familiar with why some pregnant women choose to avoid deli meat you can read about it here.

Cravings: Fruit, fruit and fruit! I can't get enough fruit. I stopped at Target on the way home from work the other day just to get piles of apples, grapefruits, and grapes.

Symptoms: Oh just the acne as pictured above.

Best Moment this week: Finding out the gender!! It was such a fun day sharing the news with our friends and family!

And my favorite husband quote of the week:

"Whoa, you should take your weekly picture today you look huge"

So that was our week 18. I have been busy this week looking at baby boy bedding and trying to decide on a crib and nursery furniture. So many decisions!!

  1. I think you look great! Good luck with picking out the bedding and nursery furniture! :)

  2. I LOVE all of your pregnancy updates. Keep 'em coming I say =) You look so cute!!!

Looking forward to seeing the bedding and nursery furniture you pick out.....and hearing BBT's name.

    Have a Blessed day,

PS The big knee surgery is tomorrow, so if I don't comment for a week or so, I'll catch back up when I'm resting with the 'ol leg up, kicked back in my recliner =)

  3. I hated the deli meat thing too. I wanted Subway so badly while I pregnant. All of my pregnant friends were eating deli meat, but my doctor said "no". About the time I started to question my doctor, I saw a show on discovery health about a woman who contracted listeria (spelling?). Needless to say I avoided deli meat or heated it for a decent amount of time before partaking. I feel your pain

  4. Ok, I'm obviously a sad, sad person b/c I read all of these before I was pregnant. And enjoyed them. kingdom for a ham and cheese sub. :(

  5. Love your weekly updates!!! I might be partial though because I'm also 18 weeks pregnant so it's always fun to read about another pregnant person in the same boat as me. One of your followers sent me to your blog because our due dates are so close:-)

Thought I'd let you know that I asked my doc about the lunch meat stuff because I am missing them too. She told me all of that started when the Subway Jared ad began and everyone was eating lunch meat at every meal and then the Listeria was most likely more from the meat having sat out or something like that. She's NEVER seen a case of Listeria. She did say she tells preggos to stay away from it though but because of the sodium not the Listeria. She said "moderation." Thought I'd share with you:-)

So glad your pregnancy has been going so well!!!

  6. I normally don't read pregnancy updates either - but I do read yours!! I enjoy your honesty and humor!! Have an awesome rest of your week!! :)

  7. You look adorable. And I mean it!!! We love hearing about your updates. :)

  8. I think pregnancy updates would be more interesting if everyone had your sense of humour! I also think everyone should include their favourite husband quote of the week - yours have been great!

All the best with the rest of your pregnancy.

  9. Your husband is funny! I think yours are the only pregnancy updates I read...only cause they're funny. ;)

  10. Seriously, I cant get over how cute you look preggers :-) And I cant wait to hear the name!

At least you're craving fruit and not ice cream/candy like I did :-)

  11. Thanks for sharing that link! I was wondering about that.

  12. I can't wait to see the bedding you pick out! And you look fabulous, I don't see ANY acne pictured!

  13. uh yea, you look awesome! love the updates.

  14. Hey pretty mama! You're so adorable with that baby bump. Love the update. And I ate deli meat my entire pregnancy...I had no idea that I wasn't supposed to. Oops! Good to know for the next time around. :)

  15. You seriously look adorable! Pregnancy looks good on you :)

Can't wait to hear your name!
