Thank you ALL so much for your sweet comments. I loved seeing all of the comments from people who read but have never commented before. Hi to you all!

It was so fun to sit back yesterday and read all of the blog comments, twitter comments and facebook messages.
That is until somebody told Luke congratulations on Facebook and he said he was still waiting on a blood test to prove if it was his.
Dear Lord that man wears me out.
We are so thankful to have so many people praying with us in this journey. It is such a nerve wracking time but I am learning to trust God every step of the way.
I know worry is bad, and now it's really bad because I don't want the baby to feel my "worries" so I am practicing lots of faith and trust.
Imagine that.
I know some people choose to wait until the 1st trimester is over to make the news public, and I understand that. But I was just so exited to share our secret and I knew that so many of our friends would commit to praying for our baby during this time. It was too special to wait!
Here are some of my pregnancy facts right now:
  • I will be 11 weeks on Wednesday and I am due March 16th (2 days after my birthday)
  • I feel great! I only felt a little nauseous weeks 6 and 7 and nothing sounded good to eat. But after that I have felt great and never got "sick" (throwing up).
  • Are you ready for this?? I HATE Chick Fila. I can't handle it right now. I ate it during week 7 and now I want to die if somebody mentions eating there. I feel like I have betrayed my first love. This is what heartbreak feels like.
  • I am tired ALL. THE. Time. I think pregnant women should be allowed to only work part time during the 1st trimester. Some days it has been so hard for me to stay awake while working.
  • I am clearly craving Cheez-its and could eat a box a day if I let myself. But I don't. I only allow myself half a box.
  • I have the best husband ever. He has been so good to me during this time. From my crazy worries of "I just don't' feel pregnant today do you think that's bad?" All the way to fending for himself for dinner because the absolute last thing I want to do is cook dinner (well second to last thing, eating Chick Fila ranks as the #1 last thing I want to do right now)
  • Yes we will be finding out what the gender is. And I already feel like I know. I know I don't really "know" but I'm 99% sure I'm right. :-) Of course Luke thinks I'm crazy.
So I think that's all for now! I think I answered all of the questions that were left in comments but if you have another one feel free to ask. I was always curious about what pregnancy was like and now that I'm going through it I am happy to share. I have already discovered things that "they" don't tell you will happen. That is a future post!
Also, several of you mentioned that I don't follow you on Twitter. If you follow me on Twitter but I don't follow you will you please email me your twitter name? I don't ever not follow anyone on purpose, you probably just got lost in the mix! You can email it to

  1. "he said he was still waiting on a blood test to prove if it was his."

SO FUNNY. Sounds like something my husband would say.

I want to follow you on Twitter but can't find your name. I'm @shortpixy.

  2. I am cracking up that Luke said that! My hubby would joke around and say dumb stuff like that when I was pregnant with baby #1- the child that looks exactly like him!!! Hahaha

    I follow you on twitter! I'm @halljk3.

  4. I know what you mean about Chick fil a. I am 14 weeks pregnant and I HATE the thought of it right now. And the tired thing, don't get me started. I feel like I could fall asleep and if no one bothered me, stay that way until February! So excited for you!

  5. I feel like you are having a boy- I have never once been wrong about guessing a gender, though I suppose there is a first for everything. Lifting your baby up in prayer!

  6. Being exessively tired was one of the reasons I first took a pregnancy test and sure enough that was the cause. I follow you on Twitter and I'd love for you to follow me :) @justbecausejess

  7. I feel like your having a boy too! When I was pregnant, one morning I ate a chicken biscuit from Chick fil a and then went to the mall...well I ended up running out of the mall literally two minutes after i had walked in and hurling by my car. I couldn't eat Chick fil a for a LONG time after that!!!

I remember that too... but its good because your body is working harder than it ever has!! Working hard growing that precious lil baby in your belly:) love ya

  10. Oh and ps.. I told everyone after my first ultrasound.. my mom said that way I had more people praying for our baby!!

  11. I normally LOVE chick-fil-a too but absolutely could not handle it early in my second pregnancy.

Don't be too sure that you're right on the gender. I felt absolutely 100% positive that my first was a boy and when I found out she was a girl I had a hard time getting over my disappointment because I was so set on a boy. Anyway, I'm sure you'll be happy with either! I'm like you, I couldn't wait to tell the world my news. I don't see how some people can keep it secret for months! Praying you have an uneventful and smooth pregnancy! Congrats again :)

  16. Oh I remember that level of exhaustion. That's why I haven't gotten pregnant again, I can't figure out how you can do it when you have another kid running around. Because I pretty much just slept all the time while I was pregnant! (ps- kidding about that being why I'm not pregnant again - we're adopting instead) :-)

  17. Congratulations on your new "twig." Loving Luke's comment, my husband would probably say something similar. I'm excited to follow your pregnancy, I hope it continues to progress smoothly!

  20. I am so happy for you both!!

I hope you return to your Chick-Fil-A love.... even if it's after Baby Tree comes.

Totally get the "pregnancy wonders".... I'm so curious to experience it for myself (though that is YEARS down the road). Can't wait to read your "they never told me this" post, lol.

  22. WHAT??? No Chick-fil-a? I think that is how you know you are pregnant. :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. You know, I guess it could be worse. You could be craving Chick-fil-a and then not be able to get it on Sunday. haha.

  24. I can't believe the CFA thing!! How crazy!

I worry about being pregnant during the first trimester and teaching. I just don't know how I'll do it. I've heard so many stories of people being so tired that first trimester and I seriously don't know how I'll teach. I suppose I'll just have to use my sick days to get some sleep!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I cannot believe you aren't eating CFA right now! That's amazing! I hope you like it again. I ate a lot of my favorite foods during the first trimester and then couldn't eat them again until the 3rd trimester. It just took some time for them to taste good again!!

I am just so excited for you!

  26. YAAAY for a baby tree!! seriously so excited for you guys- having a baby is the BEST!

  27. I have the same worry problems. This pregnancy has been a test for me (even though we've been so blessed with a healthy pregnancy) - I just struggle with it so much. We're almost done now and I'm terrified to give birth! I guess I just have to choose faith over fear even though the fear screams at me! I can't wait to see our sweet baby though :)

And I thought for SURE the baby was a boy and lo and behold it's a girl. I guess I know nothing! Can't wait to hear what you are having. Hope you get some energy back soon!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. So sorry about the chick fil a thing!! That stinks! You are almost out of your 1st trimester, wow! I can't wait to hear what you will be having, either way, that baby will be adorable. You hubby made me laugh about his comment on the paternity!! HA!

  29. In my first trimester, I hit a slump at 2.00 literally every day. I didn't know how I would make it. But somehow I did. Don't worry, your energy will make it back to you soon!

My husband said the exact same thing Luke did. What is wrong with them?! Then she came out looking just like him. There's your blood test buddy!

  30. Hi, I just found your blog through Kelly's Korner and congratulations on the new baby! My husband and I are also expecting our first and our due date is March 15th so it is exciting to be "going through" this process with someone. Praying for you!

  34. Congrats to you! Being pregnant is such an exciting time!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh Megan...all too soon you will definitely start feeling pregnant! :) I know how that feels though - I took pregnancy tests ALL THE TIME! Remember that as you worry about how that big baby will come out - that that is the easy part...this 9 months (it's actually 10) is the toughest - you make it through that and you will breeze through the delivery!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Dude...I feel the exact same way about Chick-fil-a. It is so, so sad. But the thought of a chicken sandwich just grosses me out!

    But waffle fries?

    Now those sound pretty good.
