So here we go with the first set of answers!
There were some great questions and I am excited to answer them. I have broken them up into categories, so that should help when reading them. And also hopefully help to not get too boring.

But I never get tired of reading these, so hopefully I can keep things interesting.
Here we go:
All About Marriage
How did you meet Luke? How long have you been married?
Luke and I met in college my Sophomore year, his freshman (however he is older than me) we dated for 5 1/2 years.
What do you and Luke like to do for fun?
We are actually pretty boring people. Lately for fun we have looked at houses, but recently that only causes us to argue (sometimes it is kind of comical). We like to go to sporting events and movies together. We like to play old school nintendo. I'm telling ya we are boring.
What is your favorite thing about being married?
Being with my best friend all the time (cue: Awwww)
What is the sweetest thing your husband has ever done for you?
For me this is a broad thing. There isn't one specific sweet thing that Luke has done for me, yes he is sweet all the time (well, most of the time) but I would have to say the sweetest thing he has done for me (besides asking me to marry him) was the way he treated our dating relationship. Luke is very strict about boundaries and made sure that we never crossed any sort of boundaries in our relationship. He made sure to never treat me as his wife, because as a young dating couple we were not yet man and wife. I won't get into specifics but there were many areas where he made sure we never crossed any boundaries. It sounds like such a weird thing but to me it shows how important and sacred marriage is to him. I love that our dating time was truly "dating" and it helped us easily transition into marriage and allowed him to become the spiritual leader of our marriage.
How do you deal with people asking you when you will have children now that you are married?
To be honest it doesn't really bother me when people ask me this question. I just tell them that we will have a baby when the time is right for us, and even we don't know when that will be (although we have our assumptions).
Is marriage what you expected?
For me, marriage is almost exactly what I expected. In fact it may be a little better than what I expected. SO many people warned me about how the first year is so hard and it will be such a tough adjustment and yadda, yadda, blah, blah. Our first year was amazing and we fought much less than we did when we dated (isn't that horrible?) I am a firm believer on not judging your own life on other's experiences. This includes, marriage, children, house hunting etc. So many people are quick to share their two cents and nine times out of ten it won't apply to your situation at all (stepping off my soap box now).
Fashion/Clothing/Hair:
Where is your favorite place to shop?
I pretty much buy clothes anywhere I can find them. Forever 21, TJ Maxx, Francesca's, and Express seem to make up a large majority of my closet, but I will shop anywhere. Also, I try not to buy anything full price. No point, it all goes on sale. Sometimes this isn't possible, but I try to make it happen most of the time.
What is your favorite go to dress?
Right now it would be this very simple dress. I can dress it up or down and it is so airy and comfy. I know it's simple, but it's me!

Where do you buy the majority of your shoes?
DSW. LOVE that place. When looking for a certain pair of shoes DSW is my first stop, and usually my only.
What curl product do you use?
I use Garnier Curl Sculpting Cream and Garnier Curl Shaping gel. They both work well but I'm still mourning the loss of my SOFT CURL cream that they quit making. Sad day.
What perfume do you use?
Perfume makes me sneeze. A lot. However if I wear it I use Chanel Chance
If you could only wear one pair of shoes for the rest of your life what would it be?
Hm.. This is a toss up between a good pair of flip flops or my favorite Uggs. I know I'm such a girly girl.
What are 5 staples of your wardrobe that you could never do without?
This is a hard question for me, because I don't have a lot of "timeless" clothing items. This is something I hope to work on in the future.
So for me its very basic:
1. Good pair of jeans that I feel fantastic in
2. Layering tanks in every color
3. A pair of lounge pants that feel comfy but look decent to go out in public
4. A black cardigan
5. Black leggings
What one item is your must have?
Boots. I heart boots. I love boots that you wear over jeans and leggings, I love boots that you wear with a great pair of bootcut jeans, I love casual boots. I love dressy boots. I LOVE BOOTS.
Tomorrow I will answer more questions and announce the winner of the super cute notecards!
I loved reading all your answers, but I'm really glad you answered the question about your favorite "curl product." My 4 year old has naturally curly hair, and I'm just starting to work with it on getting the curls to stay. I'll have to try the products you mentioned!
ReplyDeleteyay, I love these q&a type posts! It's always so interesting. Though I'm MOST impressed with your "boundaries" one--I really love that. I love how you said he didn't treat you as a "wife" and other boundaries before you are married; that's something that I feel is off in a lot of "modern" dating relationships!
ReplyDeleteYou and me, we need to go shopping together. We love all the same places.
ReplyDeleteAfter we watch Eclipse, obviously.
I'm with you on the first year of marriage bit. My husband and I had a great first year of marriage, very joyful and not particularly hard. We dated for quite awhile before we got married though, so maybe we worked a lot of the kinks out during that time and were able to start anew on our wedding day.
ReplyDeleteLoved this!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI need to go to DSW. Stat.
ReplyDeleteI love that dress. I have lots of dresses that are similiar and I live in them during the summer time. I also love DSW. Its like SHOE HEAVEN for me :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on the first year of marriage...we had a blast, and honestly even though we're coming up on 3 years, everything is still great. So glad you & Luke have found marriage to be as wonderful as we have!
ReplyDeleteI love Q&As. I feel like it gives more insight to a person.
