My Review of the Shoe Wheel

Last week I mentioned that I got this fabulous Shoe Wheel for Christmas.

Several people had questions about it and wanted to know if I liked it, so I decided to use it for about a week and then do a little review here on the blog.

Well today I had the grand idea to do a video blog of my review. I was super excited for my first video.

So I got home from work and got to video-making.

The first video I stumbled over my words and messed up.

The second video a certain husband walked behind me in his underwear. Seriously.

The third video you could hear him blowing his nose in the background and it was weird.

The fourth video I started it by saying "hello my lovely blogging friends" which Luke thought was the absolute funniest thing in the world. He said he thought I was going to say "hello my lovely lady lumps" Oh. Wow.

The fifth video never happened. I lost my steam.

Maybe one day, in the future.

So here is my little review through non-moving pictures.

My mom got me the Shoe Wheel for Christmas and she ordered it through this site: Rakku.

Like I mentioned before, the assembly was a BEAST. But I will get to that in a minute first here are things I LOVE about it:
  • It glides very easily
  • The shoes stay in place
  • It holds up to 20 pairs of shoes
  • It holds all sizes of shoes. I have heels, flats, and tennis shoes in mine and they all fit perfectly
  • Even though the shoes stay nicely in place they are easy to take in and out of the pockets
One problem I could see with the shoe wheel is not having room for it. There is no room in our closet for it, but we have a fairly small closet in our apartment. I am OK with it sitting in our bedroom, but some people may not be ok with that.

Now about the assembly, it was hard to put together because the pockets were hard to adjust and get to the right size. BUT that is also what helps the shoes stay in place (because they are so tight), so its a catch 22. Hard to put together, but then beneficial once it is put together.

If you are looking for a new shoe storage and you have room for this I would definitely recommend it. I love mine!

The front of it: 28.75 inches (got that from the website)
12.75 inches wide (yup that too)
How the shoes go in and out of the pockets
I hope this was helpful. Let me know if you have any questions!

  3. Okay, Megan, a friend of mine knows you. Kendall (Swinehart) LeFlore. Her husband and my hubby are best friends. Wes actually performed our wedding. We went to see "Legally Blonde" tonight and we were talking about blogs and she was saying how she knows you. Small world!

  4. That is so wild! If the majority of my shoes were NOT boots, then I think I would love this thing. And the assembly sounds like something I could ask my husband to tackle. :)

  5. I am really wishing you made a video that said "Hello my lovely lady lumps" :) That would have made my day!

And your green shoes in the last picture, how cute!!

  6. I think you should combine them all and do an outtakes video. That would be hilarious.

  7. haha I laughed hard at the video attempts. oh how husbands ruin our blogging aspirations!

anyways, the shoe wheel seems really cool - right now all our shoes are thrown into a giant cardboard box, so this would really be a better and more efficient way to store them!

  10. I feel like I really really really need this shoe wheel. I definitely wouldn't hide it in a closet - I'd want it right out there in the open!

Now I want to see the outtakes video too!!

  11. Wow...that's a pretty cool thing to have! I have never even seen anything like it, but it definitely helps your shoes be compact in a smaller location. I like the idea!

  13. Wowzers - that looks amazing. We are ALWAYS having shoe storage problems. I will have to make a mental note of this one! And girl, I think your descriptions of the videos that didn't happen are funnier than if you had posted them! LOL!

As Shoe Storage specialists in the UK we have found that the Shoe Wheel is not only an iconic item but a fantastic space-saver for those of us with limited storage in our homes.

  20. Hi - I know this is an old post, but hoping you're still reading... I have a shoe wheel, and love it. But HOW DO YOU CLEAN IT??

Do people take them apart? Submerge it in the bath? Just dust?

    Thanks
    Katie
