I mean its normal for a high school, or even college student to have trouble getting out of bed, but I thought for sure by my mid twenties (oh my gosh am I really in my mid-twenties) it would be easy to get out of bed.
Yeah, not so much.
I have never really been a 'morning person' but I would think a 25 year old with a full time professional career could pull it together enough to drag herself out of bed.
Luke has to wake me up at least 5 times every morning and there have been times where I have told him to just pour water on me then I will be forced to get out of bed.
My mom tried this tactic several times in high school and it worked like a charm.
The bed isn't as comfy/cozy if it is all wet.
However, the reason that I'm not able to get up in the morning might have something to do with the fact that it is 11:00pm and I am sitting on the couch hanging out on the computer.
Not really doing anything productive, just enjoying a little computer time. Because I obviously don't get enough computer time sitting at it all. day. long.
I have never been good at time management.
One of my new years resolutions might be to become a morning person. My goal is to get up at 6:15 ever morning.
Speaking of goals.....I am currently in WEEEK FIVE of my Couch to 5K program.
People, it is blowing my mind that I am still doing the program and I am actually enjoying it!
I have never been much of a runner, but I want to become one and this program seems to really be helping.
Half Marathon, here I come!
I need to go to bed now, I don't want to have to ask my husband to dump cold water on me in the morning.
That was a weird sentence.
Girl, you and I are complete opposites.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to trade places and be able to go back to sleep in the morning - that's something I have NEVER been able to do!
First of all, that is WONDERFUL that you're still doing Couch to 5K and enjoying! I'm right there with you on the running learning curve Never liked it, but in the past 2 months, I've started to enjoy it some.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I echo everything you said about getting up in the morning. When does it get easy?
I keep starting the Couch to 5K, but then I end up being lazy. I need to stop that!!! I completed it once about a year ago, but then I turned into a couch potato and now I need to start all over again. I hope to find your motivation!
ReplyDeleteThat would be so awesome if you trained for a half marathon!
ReplyDeleteI was so not a morning person until 2 years ago!! I started drinking tea when I got up and now I can barely sleep in! ugh!
ReplyDeleteyou are TOO funny!!! Do you set an alarm? If so, do you get up on the first ring?? That helps a TON! If you don't hit snooze the first time, you'll wake up less tired! Maybe put the clock across the room? haha I've finally learned to become a morning person now I LOVE the time sitting on the couch in the morning..eating breakfast...blogging..watching the TV show..before work!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way-I hate getting up. And by "hate" I mean "am physically incapable of." I had no problem getting up early in high school. But once college started, it's all been down hill.
ReplyDeleteSeriously you crack me up! I seem to only have trouble waking up during the week when it's an alarm going off...why is it that I wake up feeling completely refreshed on the weekends and I wake at practically the same time!
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem getting up. My alarm goes off at 5:45 every morning. Goal is to get out of bed at 6 and I can never seem to do it. It's always like 6:20 before I can get up. Very annoying.
ReplyDeleteAfter watching the Biggest Loser Where Are They Now I was totally inspired to run a half marathon. And I DESPISE running. HATE IT even.
I'm there with you...it seems like it gets HARDER not easier to get out of bed.
ReplyDeleteI worked really hard at becoming a morning person too, but the 4 day weekend screwed it all up and I am having the hardest time getting up all. over. again.
ReplyDeleteI've never been a morning person. Until now. And it's because Amelia has this problem of wanting to get up every 3-4 hours. We're working on it. :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad your exercise program is going well!
Way to go you on the couch to 5k! We all knew you'd stick with it! ...jk, I figured you'd pull a kelsey and bail after a while because since when was running fun?! proud of ya! =)
ReplyDeleteI was going to ask you how the Couch to 5K was going. GOOD FOR YOU! Way to keep with it!
ReplyDeleteI am totally with you on the waking up!!
ReplyDeleteUgh!! I hate it!!
I totally agree with it being so hard to get up. No matter what time I go to bed it is always so hard for me to get up in the morning. I so wish I was a morning person. Maybe I should work on that for the new year. Congrats on continuing the couch to 5k program. Ive thought about trying it.
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you, and I'm 30 years old, so apparently it doesn't get any easier! My 6 year old daughter is the same way, so my husband is not a huge fan of mornings and waking us girls up!
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed that you are on week 5! I really need to start it. Are you doing it all on the treadmill?
ReplyDeleteoh the mornings, they just never get easier. I thought for sure once I was a mom I'd hop out of bed, do my quiet time, make breakfast . . . not so much! I try and force Jayci to cuddle in bed with me after she wakes up so I can stay in bed longer . . . haha
ReplyDeleteps - I'm totally impressed with you running~ good job!
oh girl.. i am so with you on this. i HATE getting up in the morning. i literally wake up about 20 minutes before i have to leave for work, take a shower, throw on scrubs and leave. it is not a good plan. i wish i could be one of those people who get up, take their time, watch tv in the am or something, but i'm just not!! i always wonder when this is going to be easier for me!!
