A Desperate Attempt for Warmth

As I have mentioned before, I HATE being cold.

To me, it is one of the worst feelings ever.

During the winter months I feel like I can never get warm.

And yes I understand I sound like a whiner considering I live in Oklahoma and not Antarctica.

But it’s my blog and I’ll whine if I want to.

Well my office is located in a very old house.

I’m talking real old, like built before the Titanic sank.

I like to pull out my random Titanic knowledge from time to time.

I was obsessed with Titanic information before, my love, Leo starred in the hit movie.

And then my love for Leo began after that.

I will never let go, Jack.

I digress.

So anyways, I LOVE my office, but that ancient house doesn’t hold heat.

As soon as the heater goes off my office goes back to somewhere around 32 degrees. Give or take a couple of degrees.

Meanwhile the other people in my office are about to go crazy cause I can’t get warm enough and I continue crank up the heat.

Like I said, the hot people always win.

For the past two years that I have been in the office I always suffer during the winter time. I have been known to sit at my desk with my gloves on, and icicles hanging from my hair, shivering just to keep my blood circulating.

Some of that was exaggerated.

Well last week I was talking to a friend and she told me that she brings a blanket to work. Thus my brilliant idea was born.

A blanket with sleeves.

Of course somebody else already thought of this brilliant idea, this invention is definitely one of those that I sit back and think “why didn’t I think of that?”

So my brilliant idea was to pull the ole Snuggie out of my closet and bring it to my office.

Seriously, it was like the inventor thought of the Snuggie just for me. I can get my work done ALL THE WHILE staying nice and toasty.

Now that I’m warm I’m an all around much happier person.

I get grumpy when I am cold.

My cute hubby can testify to that fact.

Here I am working hard, totally NOT posing for a picture.

Ridiculous looking or not, I am a fan of Snuggies!

And for once I am the winner in the Hot vs. Cold debate.

  7. Me too! Me too! I take my blanket in restaurants and I keep one in my office at work. My horns come out when I get cold...and that's anything under 80 degrees!

  9. Only you can make a Snuggie look adorable!!!

That's a good idea though - I"m on the same heating as a menopausal woman so I FREEZE during the winter... need to bring one to my office!!!

  10. I am going through Snuggie withdrawls. During our 2 moves in the past 6 months, I have no idea what box those sweet treasures of a blanket are located. I am on a hunt.

  11. I love that you posed for the picture. Can you take a space heater to work? They are "illegal" here, but I snuck one in. I put it in a desk drawer every night before I leave and no one is the wiser. :)

  16. I need a Snuggie for work! Seriously, it is always so cold here. They got us fleece with our logo on it, but I would have preferred a Snuggie.

  17. That is too funny! And I can relate to being cold at work because I work in a small little dispatch center and it's usually cold in there. So...I usually keep a blanket on hand, but I also keep a heating pad in my locker at work and whenever I a)am cramping because Mother Nature has decided to pay a visit or b)am freezing my little toes off I grab my heating pad, plug her in and I am good to go!! You wouldn't think that the little thing would help keep you warm but it totally does. Stick it in your lap up against your stomach and I promise you'll get warm!!

  23. I am ALWAYS cold in the winter too. It seriously takes me forever to warm up after coming inside. You found the perfect work solution!!

  24. Fabulous idea! I finally broke out the space heater for under my desk, but it is SO loud that I can't hear anything in my office! My boss will try to talk to me from his office and I have to get up from my desk and walk in there just so I can hear him!

It's a tad bit annoying, but at least my feet are warm. :)

  25. Lol, I'm the same way, always freezing. I love the snuggie idea, but I would never hear the end of it if I brought one into work. As it is I already get teased for constantly having my heater on.
