This morning I tried the curl cream that is supposed to be similar to my magic potion but instead it came in a tube. It was ok. It made my waves nice and flowy and not stiff, which we all seem to like.
Getting the perfect wave is a lot of work.
As I have mentioned before there is not much going on in my life right now other than work and looking at homes. And neither of those are fun topics to talk about.
So instead I am asking every question I have ever wanted to ask but never had the chance because I was telling stories.
Here is today's question.
What do you get when you go to Starbucks?

I recently became a coffee drinker and realized I was missing out on this phenomenon called Starbucks.
Before my coffee obsession began the only thing I had ever ordered at Starbuck's was a hot chocolate. Sometimes I even got risky and got a mint hot chocolate. But it never went past that. I never ventured into the world that is coffee beans.
So now that I'm a coffee drinker I want to join the group of all the cool kids that enjoy a good Starbucks drink.
But it is so overwhelming.
You can get a pump of this.
Or a drizzle of that.
Or a shot of this.
Or you can get it double brewed, foam or no foam, extra hot or slightly cool.
SO many choices and I am SO confused.
So I want to know what everybody gets. Just tell me what your one favorite Starbucks drink is.
And for the record. I tried the pumpkin spice latte and hated it.
So, how do you like your coffee?

Oh friend, what a great post!! I love hearing what everyone else gets at Starbucks!!
ReplyDeleteHere are my favorites!!
Venti Sugar Free Hazelnut iced coffee with cream (YUM!)
Tall non-fat, no whip peppermint mocha (Perfect when it's cold out)
I hope that you like one of them!! Let us know which ones you try out and like! :)
Confession: I don't do the whole Starbucks thing. Or the coffee thing.
ReplyDeleteIt's too intimidating... too cool for me.
I guess I'll just have to stick with my mint hot chocolate.
Well, I don't do coffee, but I love the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate with cream! MMMM!
ReplyDeleteI don't go often, just for a treat or if I'm in one for a meeting. If it's the morning and I really need coffee I'll get a venti, non-fat latte. If it's the afternoon or evening and just want a treat I'll get a grande iced coffee with two Splenda and a splash of whole milk.
ReplyDeleteOh girl...so many choices, but here are a few of my favorites:
ReplyDeleteNon-fat White Chocolate Mocha (for those days when you just need a good comfort drink)
Skinny Caramel Latte STIRRED with caramel drizzle on top!
The Pumpkin Spice is good, but I usually have to be in the mood for it
And for those HOT days...Caramel Frappuccino® Light Blended Coffee
Enjoy trying away!
I used to be a strict hot chocolate drinker from starbucks too! I first tried the mocha frap! It's tasty but realized I can't drink them all the time or else I would be huge. Depending on the season I get either an iced/hot non fat mocha latte. Even to this day everytime I am in line to order it I have to go over the combination a million times so I spit it out the the barista correctly. Am I the only one that does that?! lol
ReplyDeleteAw you are so cute!! My fave drink is the non fat carmel mocchaito, mmm!
ReplyDeletei'm pretty dull! I like a tall vanilla late... sometimes with an extra shot of vanilla if I'm feeling extra crazy :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I love the Pumpkin Spice but sounds like you're not a fan :)
ReplyDeleteMy other favorite is White Chocolate Mocha -- it
s good if you don't like your coffee bitter or strong. It's pretty sweet but that's how I like my coffee.
No whip, nonfat, tall, extra hot pumpkin spice latte'. sorry:(
ReplyDeleteI have been a coffee drinker for years, but I don't get all the hype about Starbucks coffee. Dunkin Doughnuts is my favorite. I'll take it any day over Starbucks.
I love the white choc latte. (especially with the peppermint in the winter!) But, I usually try to be a bit healthy about it and get a "skinny vanilla latte" It's skim milk sugar free syrup and no whip. It's really good for being so low in cals compared to other drinks there.
ReplyDeleteNo coffee for this girl but I am always amazed the drinks people can get from Starbucks. Very confusing!
ReplyDeleteim not a huge fan of starbucks, but when i do go there i get a marble mocha macchiato(sp?)
ReplyDeleteI don't drink their coffee. When in season i get their black ice tea / lemonade combo unsweetned and then i add sweet n low depending on the size of the drink. Love your blog by the way!
ReplyDeleteI get a white chocolate mocha. When Josh is with me I order it non-fat. When he isn't with me I get the full fat with whip cream! :) Haha! I like to pretend he doesn't know that little secret but I think he does.
ReplyDeletemocha latte with soy milk, no whip
ReplyDeletecaramel macchiatto with soy
but my favorite is not on the menu... a zebra with soy milk. a zebra is a latte with chocolate syrup AND white chocolate syrup. It is AMAZING!
I don't do coffee, but several of my friends do so I order a variety of things depending on the season. Strawberries & Creme Frappucino in spring & summer, Caramel Apple Spice in the fall, & Hazelnut Hot Chocolate in the winter months. Yumm...I haven't had my first Caramel Apple Spice & I'm definitely craving it!
ReplyDeleteDecaf, extra hot, peppermint mocha...every time!!
ReplyDeletegrande nonfat no foam latte
ReplyDeletei used to drink grande nonfat sugar-free vanilla lattes :)
it's a mouthful.
Like you, I don't understand all the crazy combos you can get to make the perfect drink. I just choose what's on the menu and stick with the recipe Starbucks followed. :-) Way easier!
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a seasonal drinks girl, so here's the rundown:
Fall: Caramel Apple Spice
Christmas/Early Winter: Peppermint Mocha
Late Winter: White Chocolate Mocha
Spring/Summer: Passion Iced Tea (sweetened)
The bonus of getting their iced tea is that it's one of the cheapest drinks on the menu. At my Starbucks, a grande is less than $2. Very nice!
Oh, I too, tried the Pumpkin Spice Latte and HATED it! I'd read SO many blogs last year that just oohed and aahed but YUCK!!!! Glad I'm not the only one who thought it was gross!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, tried the Salted Carmel Hot Chocolate, too....it ranked with the Pumpkin Spice Latte....NOT good!
ReplyDeleteI really try not to go much anymore! I can make about 100 cups of coffee for the price of one! So, I do it at home! If I am out and about during the day and drive thru, I get a skinny vanilla latte! YUM!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE a soy pumpkin spice latte with no whip. it just says "fall" to me :)
ReplyDeleteBut, my regular drink is a skinny carmel macchiato extra hot.
they have so many good things but i definitely limit myself because they are so many calories and so many dollars :)
I get a grande skim no-whip white chocolate mocha!
ReplyDeleteTall Caramel Machiatto (Can't Spell) with extra whip cream is my favorite. When its hot I make it a frapp.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite fall drink has always been the pumpkin spice, but my regular drink of choice is a Iced Venti Vanilla Nonfat Cafe Con Leche! It's basically an Iced Coffee with Vanilla syrup (instead of the classic syrup they put in all the drinks) and with non fat milk. That's it. just a fancy name! :)
ReplyDeleteThe White Mocha is AMAZING! So yummy, but a little too sweet to have every day. I usually get a Caramel Macchiato (hot or iced, depending on the temp outside). I agree with you about the Pumpkin Spice, but I am not a fan of pumpkin at all. The Peppermint Mocha that comes out at Christmas is really good too!
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry that the pumpkin spice latte has let you down. That's disappointing. But never fear... the absolute best drink (and I only drink coffee at Starbucks) is a white mocha (I drink it non-fat with whip).
ReplyDeleteNow that Christmas is coming, you can add peppermint to it and make it a Peppermint white mocha, non-fat, with whip.
YUM-MO!!!! I may have to have one at lunch.
For me, it depends on the temperature. Over 70 degrees calls for an iced vanilla latte. Under 70 degrees calls for either a Carmel Machiato or if you like cinnimon, try to Cinnamon Dolche Latte.
ReplyDeleteI love Starbucks, but try to avoid it as much as possible, lol. It's too easy to get huge off of that stuff.
ReplyDeleteHere are my favorites....
Strawberries and Creme Frapp (no whip)
White Mocha Frapp (no whip)
Peppermint White Mocha Frapp (with sprinkles and no whip, lol) during Christmas
Caramel Apple Cider
I'm really more of a cold coffee girl
Tall White Chocolate Mocha my absolute Favorite!!! I drink it all year long!
ReplyDeleteI always sweet it up...I like the Espresso Truffle, and I like the Pumpkin Spice Latte. I also love Frapuchinos in the summer! Well, wait even in the winter! :) I love all latte's though!
ReplyDeleteVenti Caramel Frappacino Light - I get it year round; I don't care how cold it is outside. I'm addicted!
ReplyDeleteI have two go-to Starbucks drinks. For something warm I like a Non-fat, No-whip Caffe Mocha, and if I am in the mood for something cold I get a Light Mint Mocha Chip Frappuccino. During the holiday season they have some very yummy coffees like the Peppermint Mocha, the Espresso Truffle and some other really delicious ones (not sure if you can get these all year round, I never tried). I tried the pumpkin spice latte, but it is not my cup of tea...I mean coffee :)
ReplyDeleteI like coffee, but I like it to be sweet. I can't stand the bitter taste of "black" coffee without anything in it. I like me coffee "doctored up." So when I hit up Starbucks, I go for the decaf (my preference) non-fat vanilla latte w/2 Splendas. It's not really frilly, but it sure is good. And I sometimes add extra Splendas because I have such a sweet tooth. :) Happy Coffee Drinking!!
ReplyDeleteVenti vanilla latte. I don't like coffee drinks that are too sweet...I like the taste of coffee/espresso. :)
ReplyDeletewoowee what a subject ha=)! I only go for special too and I don't like most of their drinks because they are sooo sugary. And then I debate between real sugar and artifical, oh it's a process in my head. I do like the pumpkin spice latte but again the sugar, so I'll get a decaf (I go decaf when I was preggy and still most of the time while nursing=)), sugarfree vanilla (or sugarfree flavor to switch it up=)) latte, with 1 or 2% milk, extra hot... and that's only if I remember to say all of that, ha!
ReplyDeleteStarbucks has an AMAZING drink during the winter...salted caramel hot chocolate. I know it kind of sounds weird with the salt factor, but I promise it is the best version of hot chocolate out there!
ReplyDeleteSo many good choices!
ReplyDeleteOn most trips, I just get a skinny vanilla or hazelnut latte. It's low cal, so this is what I usually stick with.
If I'm splurging, I get the white mocha, or a seasonal drink. I really love their apple cider in the fall!
I used to not like coffee, but I loved the smell. Then Ty started med school and my whole life seemed to revolve around that blasted coffee pot. Now I HATE coffee and the smell. It represents that my husband has to go lock himself in a room and study forever. Now that he is on rotations, I am slowly getting over my hatred. :)
ReplyDeleteI HATE pumpkin spice lattes!! ewwww! I love Cinnamon Dolche and green tea lemonade!
ReplyDeleteI have five drinks I rotate between.
ReplyDeleteWhite Chocolate Mocha
Caramel Macchiato
Caramel Frappacino
Java Chip Frappacino - this is great with peppermint sprinkles when they have them!
And, sorry to say it, but Pumpkin Spice and I are tight.
I no longer drink coffee, so no Starbucks for me, but when I did I enjoyed the Mocha or Hazelnut and Dak REALLY likes the White Chocolate Mocha ~~ MMMMMM!!!!!!! YUMMEE goodness in a cup!!
ReplyDeleteI always always get the cinnamon dolce frappacino! I love it maybe you will too! I'm surprised not many ppl have mentioned it! O and I agree-- starbucks is complicated, and sort of intimidating, lol.
ReplyDeleteYou are too cute! I'm actually a serious coffee addict, and drink far too many cups a day, so I try to avoid Starbucks so I don't have to file Chapter 11. :) I used to hate it, but love the smell, and then a friend of mine slowly converted me.
ReplyDeleteBut when I do treat myself, I like to "mix" it up, but all non-fat. :)
vanilla latte
cap
americano (kind of like basic coffee, but much cheaper, and you can doctor it how you want)
hazelnut mocha
I was just like you! Hot Chocolate please! Until my husband took me when we were dating and told me I needed to venture out! So I got the White Chocolate Mocha! So so good! Especially if you are just starting on coffee!
ReplyDeleteSo also I cooked your taco soup last night! And I posted about it on my blog:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.itsahero.com/
I love the sugar free dolce cinnamon latte xoxo
ReplyDeleteVenti Iced Chi Tea w/ soy and one pump vanilla.....love it!
ReplyDeleteGet the Cinnamon Dolce Frappuccino or the Caramel Macchiato!!
ReplyDeleteBoth awesome!!!! :)
everybody told me that when i went to college that i would start to like coffee. well, i went & its 8 years later & i still don't like it! but i do love the smell :)
ReplyDeleteso, when i do happen to go to a starbuck's with friends all i get is hot choc!!! ha
I SOOO wish I was a cool kid who liked coffee!!!! I just don't like it!!
ReplyDeleteI don't drink coffee, I know I am weird. So when I go I get a soy chai tea latte :) I love it!
ReplyDeleteI've already commented, but I just wanted to say...I don't like the pumpkin spice latte either. And the salted caramel hot chocolate everyone speaks of...nope, didn't like it. Their cider isn't bad, if you aren't a coffee drinker. Otherwise, stick with a latte with a shot of whatever flavoring you like. Just my opinion. If you try the salted caramel hot choc...let me know what you think of it. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't do coffee, so I am no help!
ReplyDeleteI vary between a couple of things. I either get a chai tea latte with skim milk, or a peppermint hot chocolate with skim milk. And if I want something cold, it's a light java chip frappachino, light on the whipped cream. (-:
ReplyDelete~Kathryn
Mocha Frappucino all the way! It's coffee but with a yummy chocolate taste to it. Plus when the weather gets cold you can order it as a latte.
ReplyDeleteUm, i'm somewhat embarassed to post my drink... everyone else's seems so tame in comparision to what i'm about to write...
ReplyDeleteGrande, soy, caramel, extra hot, no foam americano misto...
yah. i'm high maintenance ;-)
so.... i just drink a nonfat latte. love it! sometimes i add splenda.
ReplyDelete
