You gals sure know how to help a sister out. I asked for advice and you did not fail me.
It is safe to say that chair #2 won by a landslide. I was torn between #1 and #2. I still love #1 and don't know what I am going to do just yet, but I am so glad to know which chair the majority of people preferred.
However, I do not have to worry about it tonight because Luke informed me that we need to take a break in our spending this month.
Apparently we have once again been living like rock stars and we need to take a little breather and come back down to our appropriate level of spending.
After lots of tears and gnashing of teeth I decided to find the silver-lining and see this as a good thing: I don't have to make a chair decision this month.
I am however very thankful that I have this outlet to get your opinion on my home (tiny apartment) decorating decisions.
It is good that I have this outlet, because sometimes the hubs isn't the best person to ask for advice.
The other day we went shopping for lamps, I asked him if he liked a particular lamp. He said he did like it and the reason he liked it was because it reminded him of this:
He then proceeded to pick up the lamp, hold it by one hand high up in the air and said "We did it Mr. Myiagi, we did it!"
Apparently the lamp reminded him of the trophy from "The Karate Kid".
I learned my lesson at that moment, do not take Luke shopping for home decorations. He. Does. Not. Care.
We were supposed to go out of town tonight, but ended up staying at home. Because we planned to be gone I did not have a dinner planned.
Not having a dinner planned, completely stresses me out, and when I get stressed I crave chocolate chip cookies.
But to make chocolate chip cookies you must use a beater. And I don't own one.
My mom told me that hand held beaters are around $15 at wal-mart and I just need to go buy one.
However we are on the money crackdown of August 09 and if I have to spend $15 I would rather use that money on something I could wear. A beater will have to wait.
So I opted for tannies. You do not need a beater for tannies and they are pretty much amazing.
I'm pretty sure they will be served in heaven.
Tannies are also known as blonde brownies but we call them Tannies in my family.
My grandma made these for me my whole life. They are simply amazing.
I'm still trying to figure out where this marriage weight is coming from......
I definitely know it hasn't come from sitting around watching "The Karate Kid" no need to watch it when I have my husband to quote it for me.
Reason #138470 why I married him. His ability to quote corny 80's movies.
LOL...that's so funny!
ReplyDeleteOh.My.Gosh. My husband = 80's obsessed! He is such a quoter and he can sing every song! We all should hang! haha. You crack me up... money crackdown of august 09..HAHA! We also use the term "rock stars"..."honey, why did we spend money as though we were rock stars this weekend?" ..we've said that..a many of times!
ReplyDeleteOh husbands are always good for a laugh!
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly something my husband would quote! He always quotes Doc in Back to the Future...."Roads, where we're going, we don't need roads."
ReplyDeleteYa, awesome! ;)
And those tannies look amazing! Yum!
lol you are hilarious!!! THX for the laugh :)) my husband LOVES blonde brownies aka Tannies...I showed him and he said, "YUMMeeeeeeeee" "YUMMY"...yay maybe he'll make 'em for us sometime...lol
ReplyDeleteoh and about the chair...I TOTALLY agree, even though #1 looks comfy and cozy #2 matched much better!
Besides you can always get comfy pillows...or
you could get chair #1 and just recover it with a fabric like chair #2's!!!
Him holding the lamp up just cracks me up, totally something M would do! Tannies look awesome, yes please!
ReplyDeleteStupid budgets! Men just don't get the importance of having a cute, well decorated home! At least you had your yummy "tannies"! I love the name!
ReplyDeletebudgets can be SO frustrating! we're definitely guilty of just forgetting the budget for a week and then having to be miserable for the rest of the month because we used all our money in that one week faking like we were rockstars. sheesh!
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarious, and totally something my guy would do. He doesn't care either.
ReplyDeleteThose tannies do look amazing, and they don't need a beater?! I hate, hate, hate washing the beater um... thingies? I don't know what they're called. Is the tannies recipe a super secret family recipe or are you able to share?
Hahahaha! Men just don't get it sometimes, do they?=)
ReplyDeleteGirl, that's what we are here for, to help you make those hard life decisions, haha!!! I do love chair #2 though. You'll definitely have to let us know what you go with!!! And those tannies look YUMMY!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know which would be the worst:
ReplyDeletehaving a husband that doesn't care about home decor and not getting good advice from them
or
having a husband who has a strong opinion on every home decor decision and having a different style than you.
(Ty is #2 and it drives me crazy!!!)
Haha...I've decided that Hubby doesn't really care either...but when he does it is very apparent and probably too late as I've already made a decision assuming he doesn't care!!!
ReplyDeleteAre you going to share the recipe?
ReplyDeleteLove that he compared the lamp to Karate kid...hilarious!
ReplyDeleteThose look so yummy. I actually made cc cookies last night. Break and bake though!
Those look super good! Yum!
ReplyDeleteThose tannies DO look good! We have budget crackdowns here all the time. I just want to always live like rock stars!!! ha!
ReplyDeleteMmmm, you can never go wrong with chocolate.
ReplyDeleteUm, YUM!!! Where's the recipe???
ReplyDeleteyum! and yes were is the recipe! : )
ReplyDeleteoh wow.... yummmmm!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a neighbor that we call Mr. Myiagi. He looks JUST LIKE HIM! He's very serious and never waves back.
ReplyDeleteThose tannies look awesome!!
Luke not caring about decor can be a blessing in disguise. You can probably pick out whatever you want!
ReplyDeleteCasey likes me to show him things before I buy them so that he can see if he likes them too. (Unless it something really little like a picture frame or vase.)
megan--you know i'm a major baker and i have a lot of cookie recipes. i've got several chocolate chip ones that don't require a beater...we'll...you are the beater. If this interests you, facebook message me. I've got a chewy chocolate chip cookie that is TO DIE FOR! :) All of our neighbors love it!
ReplyDeletethose look oh so yummy!!
ReplyDeletewhere is the recipe?

Umm delicious!! I forgot all about blonde brownies. My mom used to always make these! I'm totally adding chocolate chips on top of mine next time!
ReplyDeleteYAY for chair #2 and tannies....yummm!!!
