Decorating and Baking

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!

You gals sure know how to help a sister out. I asked for advice and you did not fail me.

It is safe to say that chair #2 won by a landslide. I was torn between #1 and #2. I still love #1 and don't know what I am going to do just yet, but I am so glad to know which chair the majority of people preferred.

However, I do not have to worry about it tonight because Luke informed me that we need to take a break in our spending this month.

Apparently we have once again been living like rock stars and we need to take a little breather and come back down to our appropriate level of spending.

After lots of tears and gnashing of teeth I decided to find the silver-lining and see this as a good thing: I don't have to make a chair decision this month.

I am however very thankful that I have this outlet to get your opinion on my home (tiny apartment) decorating decisions.

It is good that I have this outlet, because sometimes the hubs isn't the best person to ask for advice.

The other day we went shopping for lamps, I asked him if he liked a particular lamp. He said he did like it and the reason he liked it was because it reminded him of this:

He then proceeded to pick up the lamp, hold it by one hand high up in the air and said "We did it Mr. Myiagi, we did it!"

Apparently the lamp reminded him of the trophy from "The Karate Kid".

I learned my lesson at that moment, do not take Luke shopping for home decorations. He. Does. Not. Care.

We were supposed to go out of town tonight, but ended up staying at home. Because we planned to be gone I did not have a dinner planned.

Not having a dinner planned, completely stresses me out, and when I get stressed I crave chocolate chip cookies.

But to make chocolate chip cookies you must use a beater. And I don't own one.

My mom told me that hand held beaters are around $15 at wal-mart and I just need to go buy one.

However we are on the money crackdown of August 09 and if I have to spend $15 I would rather use that money on something I could wear. A beater will have to wait.

So I opted for tannies. You do not need a beater for tannies and they are pretty much amazing.

I'm pretty sure they will be served in heaven.

Tannies are also known as blonde brownies but we call them Tannies in my family.

My grandma made these for me my whole life. They are simply amazing.

See? Don't these tannies look absolutely yummy?

I'm still trying to figure out where this marriage weight is coming from......

I definitely know it hasn't come from sitting around watching "The Karate Kid" no need to watch it when I have my husband to quote it for me.
Reason #138470 why I married him. His ability to quote corny 80's movies.

oh and about the chair...I TOTALLY agree, even though #1 looks comfy and cozy #2 matched much better!

Besides you can always get comfy pillows...or

you could get chair #1 and just recover it with a fabric like chair #2's!!!

  8. budgets can be SO frustrating! we're definitely guilty of just forgetting the budget for a week and then having to be miserable for the rest of the month because we used all our money in that one week faking like we were rockstars. sheesh!

Those tannies do look amazing, and they don't need a beater?! I hate, hate, hate washing the beater um... thingies? I don't know what they're called. Is the tannies recipe a super secret family recipe or are you able to share?

  12. I don't know which would be the worst:
having a husband that doesn't care about home decor and not getting good advice from them

    or

having a husband who has a strong opinion on every home decor decision and having a different style than you.

(Ty is #2 and it drives me crazy!!!)

  13. Haha...I've decided that Hubby doesn't really care either...but when he does it is very apparent and probably too late as I've already made a decision assuming he doesn't care!!!

  19. Luke not caring about decor can be a blessing in disguise. You can probably pick out whatever you want!
Casey likes me to show him things before I buy them so that he can see if he likes them too. (Unless it something really little like a picture frame or vase.)
