It seems like my weekly weekend updates have been closer together the past couple of weeks.
The summer of 2009 isn't bringing much blog worthy material.
And that might continue unless you want to hear about us grocery shopping, or how I'm still singing more Michael Jackson songs then I ever have in my life, or trying to find something good to watch on TV.
Is it just me or does it seem like there is a plethora of shows about babies on TV this summer? From the 'Pregnant with Twins and Didn't Know It' show all the way to '16 and Pregnant' I feel like I am surrounded by them
And don't even get me started on the 'Pregnant and Didn't Know It show'. I am slightly convinced I'm pregnant and don't know it.
Anyways on to the weekend.
Friday I went to my family's home so that my sister could color my hair. This was a first for our relationship. She received her cosmotology license a couple of months ago so I feel lucky to have my own personal hair person. Woo hoo!
Kati coloring my hair: The kitchen turned into our very own salon

Later that night we met back up with my family to celebrate Independence Day.
I don't know how you spent your 4th of July but ours was spent in the POURING RAIN! And we happened to be in the middle of a hay ride when it started pouring. This is a weird picture but it is the before picture.
Before the torrential downpour.
This was after. Can you say hot mess?!?!?!
With my loves:
Me with the sisters. My sister informed me my 'dress' is a swimsuit cover up. I had no idea. I just thought it was a really casual dress that looked like a nightgown.
It was a great 4th of July!

It was a great 4th of July!
I am laughing at the pool cover up...only because it's something that I have totally done! No shame in it :)
ReplyDeleteI almost bought a cover-up from Penney's, thinking it was a dress...until my S-I-L informed me of my error. I would have never known yours was a cover-up...super cute!
ReplyDeleteThe pic of your nephew is so adorable.
How on earth can those women not know they are pregnant until they are pushing the baby out!?? I don't understand.
How funny! I've had my hair done so many times in the kitchen, thanks to having a mom that's a cosmetologist!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures!
I have been known to rock the swimsuit cover-up as a dress so I don't see what the big deal is!
ReplyDeleteAlso, 16 and Pregnant made me remember what is wrong and messed up in the world. OMG.
Don't worry! I once wore a nightgown I bought on clearance out until one of my sorority sisters informed me it wasn't a sundress!
ReplyDeleteWhat a miserable feeling to be caught in a July thunderstorm! It was so humid right after!
ReplyDeleteLOVED the pics girl! So glad you had a great time!! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time regardless of the rain, and I would've totally worn the swimsuit cover-up too and not even realized it.
ReplyDeletei have totally worn a coverup as a dress..I see nothing wrong with that haha
ReplyDeleteLooks like a dress to me! Super cute pictures!
ReplyDeletethe cover-up . . . haha I cannot stop laughing :-) I always do that - what could be better than casual and comfortable?!
ReplyDeleteDo you know how many times I've had to really focus when looking at the latest line of Old Navy dresses? The dresses and the swim suit cover-ups are basically identical.
ReplyDeleteI say that it's great that you bought something so versatile!
Glad you had a great 4th of July!
Hey, I say the "dress" is cute, so why not?? LOL
ReplyDeleteAwww what a fun weekend, great pics! And I think your dress is def casual cute, I would never think it was a cover-up!

ReplyDeletethat lil picture of maxton just melted my heart! so cute:) And i love your hair:) it looks so cute and natural:) could you be any cute megan? Nope.. you are darling! I miss you
ReplyDeleteLove the pic of the baby by the door! So precious. How awesome to have your own hair stylist in in the family. And for the cover up/dress - it is perfect for the weekend no matter what it is.
ReplyDeleteThat pregnant and didn't know it show freaks me out!! While I still don't understand how that can happen, I have known two girls that went through that so.. I guess it really does happen.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are adorable! That picture of Maxton just make my uterus cry out..
Love your dress.. I mean cover up!
oh it's a cute dress, i never would have thought it was a coverup either=)! little maxton is sooo cute! and so fun to get your hair done by your sister!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend! I love the photo of the little guy waving goodbye - how sweet!! I can totally understand how tough it must be to have to walk away from that sight.
ReplyDeleteI am also right there with you on all of the pregnant shows. The MTV one about 16 and pregnant? Makes me want to hurl. Why does MTV insist on glorifying and publicizing all of the BAD things teenagers do? i.e. getting pregnant, getting married too young [esp. when it's to rebel against parents], have lavish sweet 16s, etc. Glad to see their moral compass is spot on. :)
And now stepping off my soapbox... haha. Hope you're having a great Monday!
Megan,
ReplyDeleteSo digging the swimsuite cover up dress. I love mine too.
Have a Blessed week,
Dawn
How awesome to have a sister that has her cosmetology license! I can remember having my hair done in the kitchen by my mother and she clearly DID NOT have a cosmetology license. She basically ruined my hair the night before EVERY school picture! Ha!
ReplyDeleteI think if anyone can pull off a swimsuit cover-up as a dress - YOU can! You look adorable!
nice getting your hair done!! glad you had a good weekend!
