I never wanted to admit it and in fact I have tried rather unsuccessfully to hide it, but I think its time for the truth to come out.
I am not a shoe girl.
I wish I was. It would make life so much easier.
I have tried in vain to become a shoe girl but alas I am not.
It is hard to become a shoe girl when you think that a pair of $3 pair of Old Navy flip flops goes with everything.
Well I'm not that lost, I do have different colors of the flip flops to match various outfits.
It's not that I don't think shoes are cute, because I do, I just don't see what the big deal about them is.
Most times when girls go on and on about how cute a pair of shoes are, I will agree, but in my mind I will be wondering how they are any different than any other shoe.
I am just not a shoe girl.
When shopping, I would much rather buy a pair of good fitting jeans, or a shirt that I will wear numerous times.
Not one pair of heels that will go only with a couple of outfits.
I know, I am so boring, and I just don't understand the true beauty of shoes.
However after 25 years of being shoe-dumb I do not think that I am going to get shoe-savvy anytime soon.
So please do not judge me for any shoe mistakes I may make in the future. Because I have made some in the past and and I'm sure I will make some in the future.
I really feel like the only girl in the world who is not a shoe girl?
Are there any others?!?!

NO, there are NO others. You are the only one. How can you not be a shoe girl? I am going to have to reevaluate our blog friendship... ;) Kidding, I love a great pair of jeans too!
ReplyDeletei used to not be a shoe girl until about two years ago. I am REALLLLY hard on shoes so I never wanted to spend lots of money on them. But now when i see a fun unique shoe i just die! haha
ReplyDeleteI am not a huge shoe girl either! I find myself wanting to spend money on the perfect pair running shoes rather than heels.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a shoe girl either. I've tried. It just doesn't work for me! No judgment on you shoe selections from me!
ReplyDeleteI am a total shoe girl! I think sometimes, shoes can make or break an outfit!! But you're you and not ever woman has a fetish with shoes, and that's okay. Just think of it as more money in your pocket and we're the broke people, haha!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a shoe girl! I like shoes, but I don't buy them. And the couple times i tried..I never wore them. I can't handle any discomfort and I just love my flip-flops too much.
ReplyDeleteYou are DEFINITELY not alone! If a pair of shoes cost more than $20, they have to be made of gold for me to buy them. I hate shoe shopping. I wear the same 5 shoes in the winter, and another 5 pairs of flip flops in the summer. It's crazy to me how much money people will spend on shoes!
ReplyDeleteHey.. old Navy flip flops cover the bottoms of your feet - classifying them as shoes.. so yes, I am a shoe girl for those standards! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a shoe girl either. You just explained my feelings exactly. I'd rather have the jeans or the shirt. Actually, I'm not much of a purse girl either. I buy one...use it for months.. then buy another. No big thing going on there either.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a shoe girl either. But I have found that being in weddings has increased my shoe collection and I kinda like it!
ReplyDeleteI love shoes, but they are always so incredibly expensive! I too am guilty of owning Old Navy flip flops in a million colors and wearing them all summer long--they're so comfortable, and it's too hot here to wear anything else. I've even started wearing them to work...I hope no one will call me out on it!
ReplyDeleteI guess you're not the only non-shoe girl...but I definitely make it up for you!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. I'm am SOOO not a shoe girl. Like you, I wish I was, to an extent, but I would rather spend my money on clothes than shoes.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, I'm totally enough of a shoe girl to make up for you not being one. :)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I adore shoes. Like, love, love, love them.
It's actually kinda sad.....
GIRL AFTER MY OWN HEART. omg. Old Navy flops in multiple colors were pretty much all the shoes I had. I started doing pageant in college and my local directors were like what is wrong with you... and bought me all these shoes. I like getting the shoes, but it's so hard for me to spend money on them. I like them a little more now, but I have like staple black heels, staple flats, sneakers, FLIP FLOPS, etc. So yeah. PLUS, i am always scuffing shoes. So if I spend money, it's a guarantee within a week I will have messed them up. So I try to stick with sale shoes and did I mention FLIP FLOPS?
ReplyDelete~Kathryn
I'm not sure if I've commented on your blog before.. usually I'm just a lurker. I love reading your blog though.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm not a shoe girl either. I wear flip-flops all summer long and boots all winter.
Sounds like just from the responses to your post, you've got lots of company. I'm not a shoe girl either, and I don't really care that much for shopping! So, I'm definitely not really into it, and I wear my Rainbow Flip Flops with everything. I even have them in black and tan, so they go with everything!
ReplyDeleteI'm no shoe girl either. Hayden wishes I was...but for me I dig wearing flip flops or converse in warm weather and the same cold weather Birkenstocks or boots I've had for a million years in the winter.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really a shoe girl either. I guess I'm a cheap shoe girl, because I don't want to spend a lot of money.

I've never been a shoe girl and I never wear high heels! :) I'm glad I'm not the only one!
ReplyDeleteI'm not really a shoe girl either...I prefer flip flops. Of course, I do wear heels on special occasions...but my collection only really includes the basic colors, like black and brown. I hear ya girl!
ReplyDeleteI am like you!!!! I wish I was a "shoe girl" and I have my moments...I do have a million pairs of cute flip flops and several cute pairs of heels, but shoes are not my favorite thing to buy/shop for!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! And mine HAVE to be comfortable. I can't stand wearing shoes that hurt... so there goes much of the desire to wear heels! Ballet flats or flip flops keep me covered on most occasions.
ReplyDeleteI love shoes, but nothing beats a broken in pair of old navy flip flops!
ReplyDeleteI am not a shoes girl...nor am I a shopper. Weird. I know.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about shoes. I think it might be because I'm a little too tall (like 5 or 10 inches too tall) to wear heels . . .so it's flip flops for me :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Megan, My name is April, I am twenty someting girl too, I live in Charlotte and actually came across your blog through Emily and Faith Davis's blogs. I grew up with their family here in Charlotte. But anyways, just wanted to introduce myself:)
ReplyDeleteand one more thing...I am NOT a shoe girl either:) you are not alone... I would wear my rainbows year round if i could:)
Anyways, Have a great day! I look forwarding to reading your next post!
I was not a shoe girl until I got preganet and the only thing that I could buy that fit were shoes!!
ReplyDeleteNow I love them, but, really only wear flip-flops in the summer!!!
yeah, pretty sure you're alone on this one! I'm definitely a shoe girl! And I wear the heck out of them so I constantly have an excuse to buy more.
ReplyDeleteBy the way...what the heck happened! I deleted you from my sidebar because every time I tried to click it, it said you're site no longer existed! My thing said you hadn't updated in a month! i though you left the blogosphere...Well, I'm adding you back!
I go back and forth. At this point, I feel like shoes are too expensive and too uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteBut since I have like 40 some pairs of shoes (at least, not counting flip-flops)... I'm probably a shoe girl. Oh well.
Seeing as how I'm now a stay at home mom and I'm pretty much barefoot all the time, I don't need shoes! :) But if I have somewhere special to go I will find some kick-booty shoes! :)
ReplyDeleteI couldnt care less about shoes! I have a few decent pairs, and every day flip flops. I think I have six pairs of shoes total, LOL. I seriously dont get the shoe hysteria. I dress pretty simply though, mostly shirts and pants from Gap, so I guess I missed the girly trendy bug all together.
ReplyDeleteI wish I wasn't a shoe girl.. my bank account would appreciate it! I really wasn't until about 2 years ago when I finally got how a good pair of shoes could just make an outfit. Now.. oh I love them!
ReplyDeleteHowever, I do own about 25 pairs of old navy flops. They are a staple =)
Megan,
ReplyDeleteI used to be a show girl (haha I typed show girl ~~ hahahaha I am so NOT a show girl, anyway.....hahahahheeheehee, moving on...)
I used to be a shoe girl as my closet will attest, but not so anymore. My hubs recently bought me a pair of $75.00 Bass Pro out door shoes that I adore and wear with practically everything. So I have found a new love, Bass Pro shoes, I wonder how those will work out for me in the winter =)
Have a Blessed evening,
Dawn
I am not really a shoe gal either so don't feel alone or disappointed in yourself...there are others out there like YOU! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely a shoe girl. I build outfits around the shoe. :) I've already started buying shoes for the little miss that's on the way! Take heart though...because flip flops are wonderful as well. :)
ReplyDeleteTotally not a shoe girl and like you sometimes wish I were. I'm just not willing to pay money for shoes that only go with a few outfits.
ReplyDeleteMe too!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a shoe girl either. My boyfriend just kept on asking why he never see me in shoe while I do had a pair of sport shoe?
I definetly will buy shoe (I think just to fill in my rack)..but will not wear them.
What a weird person I am..
haha!! i LOVE old navy flip flops :)
ReplyDeleteI am not a shoe girl, although the amount of shoes I have would say otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI am also not a flip flop girl. I only have one pair that I bought 3 years ago - black - they're for the lake.
I'm sure Luke thanks you! I am a comfortable shoe girl. I blame it on Clint, and I thank him at the same time. Although, I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be taking "fashion" advice from me...
ReplyDeleteMel
Me and my flip flops feel your pain, girl. :-)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I enjoy you so much!!!
I have a hubby in the shoe business, so we are kind of educated, about athletic shoes anyway. I am not a shoe person much either, I don't have the money for them!
ReplyDeletei love a cute pair of shoes but i am not willing to spend a lot of moola, i'm with you too on the clothes=)! i really do want/need new cute shoes to go with more outfit, but alas it just hasn't happened yet=)!
ReplyDeleteI used to be a shoe girl, up until I started having to buy my own shoes. Then I quickly became a flipflop girl! I will spend a little on some flipflops, but never over $30, and I'll wear them till they fall apart! Also used to be a purse girl too...that obsession dissappeared too! Much rather spend my money on some jeans or shorts. I love shorts!
ReplyDeleteI have finally got an RSS feed to your blog so I don't have to go to your website to check for any updates.
ReplyDeleteI miss you guys a lot and reading your blog makes me feel like I'm back at home :)
