I had found many meatloaf recipes; some sent to me from blog friends, others from cookbooks and one from my grandma.
When the time came to prepare the meatloaf, sitting on my kitchen counter were five meatloaf recipes, none of which I followed completely.
I took a little of 'this and that' from each recipe. If I didn't like something that one recipe offered I simply moved to the next one.
A couple of them called for a cup of milk, and the thought of putting a cup of milk in my meatloaf made me want to hurl. So I simply omitted it.
I don't know if you are really allowed to do that, but I did it.
And the meatloaf was just sort of ok.... not amazing, but not horrible.
Luke said he liked it, but that's not saying much. I'm pretty sure if any meal involves, meat and potato's he is going to enjoy it.
In other news: less about food and more about trashtastic TV, I have to say I am so excited for tonight's finale of RHNJ.
Every time I see the preview were Teresa flips over the table I let out a squeal and exclaim how excited I am for Tuesday to get here.
I am every marketers fantasy. If you package some just right I will definitely fall for it: hook, line, and sinker.
Which is exactly why I own a snuggie.
Anybody else watching this tonight?

*Please do not be alarmed by the title of this post 'No Title'. I consider it one of my most creative titles yet. I mean seriously, what do you title a post that involves discussion of Meatloaf and RHNJ with a Snuggie thrown in? Sometimes coming up with a title completely throws me off.*
Haha, I love that you have no title. Too funny!
ReplyDeleteEw! Milk in meatloaf?! I would've omitted it too! I make a really simple meatloaf with 1lb of meat, 2 eggs, some ketchup, Ritz crackers, and some italian seasoning. I don't measure anything! Just bake at 350 for 45 minutes and wa-lah!
ReplyDeleteI'm super excited about tonights RHNJ too!! Pumped!!
milk in meatloaf sounds strange to me too.
ReplyDeleteHas RHNJ been on for the past couple of weeks? I had my DVR set to record the entire series but have gotten nada for the last 2 weeks or so. (The last new one I got was the Black and White and Read all over about the one chicks arrest back in the day.) I was surprised when you said tonight was the finale!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for atleast trying the meatloaf! Yeah! See you are getting there! I am DEFINATELY watching RH tonight-YIPPPEEEE!!! I am so mad it's over already :(
ReplyDeletei think i had too much meatloaf as a child because i have refused to eat it (let alone make it) for like 10 years now :)
ReplyDeleteI am totally waiting for tonight's finale! Ahhh!
ReplyDeleteMilk in meatloaf is strange, hmm. Interesting!
ReplyDeleteMilk in meatloaf??? That's crazy! Never heard of such a thing. Meat, egg, and bread crumbs are the staples, right?? From there, it should just be spices... and maybe some tomato sauce. Milk? No thanks... YUK!
ReplyDeleteMy mom always soaks a piece of bread in milk and then mixes it with the meatloaf and it is soo good! Im sure your meal was delish! I had a dream about you last night... we were at panera... not together and I saw you at a table with a bunch of friends and u came over and sat with me and we talked forever.. random.. but I think it means we need to hang out again:)
ReplyDeleteGirl, I just love you. You're just flat out real, and I so wish we could sit and have a cup of coffee sometime, haha!!!
ReplyDeleteMegan,
ReplyDeleteOkay showing my oldness here and the fact that we don't pay for TV, but what is RHNJ?!?!! Okay you can stop laughing now and let me in on the initials =)
I am not a fan of meatloaf and neither are my boys, but I do have a pretty good recipe at the ready just in case the notion hits us.
Have a Blessed Tuesday,
Dawn
I can't imagine that meatloaf would be easy to make, I've never even tried to make it! So I definitely give you props for at least trying ;)
ReplyDeleteHubby & I definitely avoid meatloaf at all costs! I think my mom made me eat it one too many times.
ReplyDeleteI don't put milk in my meatloaf either. The snuggie became cool when I saw a pic of Beth Moore wearing one...seriously, it was the cutest thing I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for tonight either - should be good with some table flipping!
ReplyDeleteLove the "No Title" post! I hate trying to come up with a title!!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited about tonight's season finale!! It's going to be awesome!
Making meatloaf grosses me out. It's just a pan full of meat, ew! I hate coming up with titles too.
ReplyDeleteI want to see it too!!
ReplyDeletehows the snuggie?! ;)
milk in meatloaf sounds gross!!!!! I LOVE meatloaf. I hope you found a good recipe. I have a yummy and easy recipe if you are interested.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I just got a snuggie a couple weeks ago, and actually, I confess, I am wearing it right now. And. I. Love. It.
I enjoy your posts!

Great title in my opinion! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes my slanket and I will be all cuddled up watching RHONJ! I cannot WAIT to see Theresa throw that table!! :)
I love that show too! It's my guilty pleasure also. I can't wait to watch tonight's episode!!!
ReplyDeleteI am a complete failure at making meatloaf. I never have liked it very much, but tried to make it recently and give it another shot. Still, not a fan! Guess meatloaf is just not for me!
ReplyDeleteI love me some meatloaf...but milk in it? Not so much!! Kuddos to you for trying it!!!
ReplyDeletetoo funny!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty lucky because my husband thinks meatloaf is disgusting, and well to be completely honest, I'm not a huge fan. I personally feel that the only thing that should be in the shape of a loaf is bread....
And I LOVE trashy TV. Since I'm not working today I will be bouncing back between RHNJ and HawthoRNe.
BTW I love my snuggies!
You crack me up!!! Hope you are enjoying your trash-tastic TV!!!
ReplyDeleteI am not a meatloaf person but im sure you did a great job! i love the rhnj!! i love all the rh shows...
ReplyDeletei think a few were edited in this picture..
hope you're having a good week! :)
I love to cook, but I CAN'T make meatloaf!! I use the same recipe my mom does, only mine comes out weird and hers is delicious. Please explain it to me!
