Weekly Weekend Update

This weekend was a really great weekend. First of all it was beautiful weather. Gotta love that! My mom, sister (Kati), and baby Maxton came to stay the weekend with me. It was so much fun! I love having visitors come and stay with me. They arrived Friday around 5 and then we headed out to go shopping. I have gone shopping 2 weekends in a row. Oh how I dread a joint checking account (just kidding!).
Saturday morning we woke up and went to go grab some breakfast:

Here is me and my mom eating at Panera
Kati and Maxton, he was asleep and we didn't feel like waking him up just to take a pictureSaturday Luke and I had another wedding shower given to us. This one was hosted by the wonderful women at our church. It was such a great shower. We are very blessed. We received lots of great home items!

After the shower we headed to my aunt and uncles for a little food, fun, and swimming. It was a great time! I love the outdoors in the summer! I have been blessed with a body that doesn't sweat. I'm telling you. It has to be R-E-A-L hot for me to feel it.

Today Luke and I went and bought living room furniture and a new bed for our apartment! I am so excited! Luke moves into our apartment this weekend. We have a lot of packing to do! It is much more difficult than it sounds. How do you convince a 24 year old man that he doesn't need to save his football pencil sharpener even if he has had it since 2nd grade. Seriously I am still trying to figure out why he even brought it to college with him? I thought everybody used mechanical pencils these days!?!? I need a lot of patience this week......

Currently I am listening to Luke and his roommate sort through their video game collection talking about each game and which particular game belongs to which boy. I hope I am not expected to discuss video games in our new apartment!
Thanks to everyone for your prayers on Friday afternoon I went to the Dr. and he gave me medicine for my migraines. He was pretty confident that the migraines were related to stress. Me Stressed?? Nah!!!

I need to go to bed now. I have to be at work at 6:30 in the morning. I'm pretty sure that isn't legal. I am convinced that nothing productive can happen before 9:00am.

Happy Monday!

P.S. When Luke and signed the contract for our apartment they told us that we will get free cable. I seriously cried. I think I am that emotional girl that gets on everybody's nerves!!

  1. I'm glad you had a great weekend with family and friends. And even better that you are feeling well!

Take pictures of the new furniture. I remember some of the crazy pre-married life stuff Bryan and I brought into our home. Looking back you ask yourself...Why?

  3. Your mom and sisters are beautiful!

and I know what you mean about getting your fiance to get rid of things he's had since he was 5! My bf and I argue about that stuff all the time. Who would've thought boys were sentimental!

Leave that pencil sharpener alone! If he has had that since second grade that makes about 17 years he has had it. You and he have been together --what? 3 or 4 years?? -- the pencil sharpener has at least 12 years seniority. Be very careful there.
A man needs to have some 'stuff' he can call his own and the comment by a previous commenter shows just how cold women can be. Yes, boys can be sentimental also and there is nothing worng with that, especially when it comes to something as important as boy stuff. Women apparently have no soul when it comes to important boy stuff (men are just large boys who now can grow facial hair and are lots taller).
I shall come and inspect your new digs and see what treasures you brought to this arrangement. Remember: One man's trash is another man's treasure.
... and boyhowdy! men certainly collect lots of "treasures"
Just so you know, I have some treasures that are much, much older than you. Now, if I could only remember where I put them.

  11. Awww, you guys are sooooo cute!!! You know, I tried to convince my hubby to get rid of his METAL Denver Broncos GARBAGE CAN from his youth...but had no luck. It just sits in our guest room like it belongs there or something. Have fun with that pencil sharpener!!! :)
