The Best Show Ever

Seriously. Has there ever been a better show than Lost?
I look forward to it every week - and the two hour season finale was UNBELIEVABLE!
If you aren't watching this show you are missing out!
Every week Luke and I go to Tommy and Julie's (Tommy is the pastor at our church) and watch the show. We got a little later than 8:00 so that we can fast forward through the commercials.
Luke is out of town right now finishing up his CD so I went alone this week.

Here are some pics:

Julie and I in our matching Lost shirts.....she gave me this shirt for my birthday!!!
Do you like the strategically paused Lost in the background? Yes, we are nerds.

This is how sad we are that we have to wait until stinking February to watch it again!! The months between May and February last year seemed like f-o-r-e-v-e-r!!!

Melinda, my current housemate came to watch the finale with us.

TV is so sad without Lost. Embarrassingly I must admit that aside from Lost I have an obsession with reality shows. I love them for some reason. It really doesn't matter what they are about they suck me right in! So here's to a summer of reality TV!

My Office!

A fellow blogger Kelly shared pictures of her kitchen (which is very beautiful) and encouraged other bloggers to post pictures of their favorite room in their house.

Well, I don't have a house, and I am in the process of moving all my stuff to Luke's, so... currently my favorite room is my office. Yes, my office. I work in an old Victorian home that was built in 1912. It is a great place to work. My office is upstairs in what was once a bedroom. I love working in my office. It is so nice and comfy - and I really enjoy my job. Here are some pictures of my humble working quarters:

This is what my office looks like from the doorway. Please don't mind the messy desk.
Another shot with the windows open. I am surrounded by windows, I love it! Especially when it snows! I love just watching the snow fall down!
This is the right corner of my office. This chair is seriously the most comfortable chair ever. I can't ever sit in it or I would just drift off to sleep. It is a good spot for visitors to sit.

The left corner of my office. Another chair for visitors. This one usually just serves as a jacket and purse holder.Just a shot of the other set of windows.

The best part about my office??!? I didn't have to do any of the decorating. I went out of town for a week last summer and when I came back the girls in my office had done everything for me. So great. I just love this room - there is only one problem: There are some rumors that due to the history of this house, it is thought to be haunted. That freaks me out. I refuse to be there alone.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures of my office. Hopefully I will soon have a home to show off!

Fear and Freedom

“ I do not understand what I do for what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. Romans 7:15

This particular scripture is one that has meant many different things to me throughout my life. Throught various struggles in life this verse has spoken out to me.
Currently this verse describes my life with worry. I have always been a person who worries, but I feel that lately my worry has gotten out of control. Not the kind of worry that is to be joked about “O yeah I’m just a worry-wort” But the kind of worry that has started to take over my life.

It wasn't something that just happened overnight. Lately I have realized that my worry has gotten out of control, but as much as I wanted to stop it I continued to let it take over. For whatever reason, tonight was a night when I decided that something needed to be done. I could not sit back and allow worry to take over my life anymore, I began to seriously seek God, to help me rid this worry from my life.

As I was spending time with God looking for the verse mentioned above I came across a different verse, one that was underlined in my bible, but tonight it was brand new to me (don’t you love it when hat happens?) This was the verse:

For you did not receive a sprit that makes you a slave to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry Abba Father. Romans 8:15

As I scanned across and read this verse it hit me like a ton of bricks – I have not received a spirit that makes me a slave to fear – YET I am allowing myself to be controlled by fear – with each ridiculous worry I am allowing fear to consume and control my life.
The second part of the verse says that I received a spirit of sonship. – I am able to have a close relationship with God, he calls me his daughter and through this relationship I have freedom – yet I continue to choose the path of being controlled by fear. WHY?!?!??!

I am so thankful that God opened my eyes to this sin – why would I let anything control me? Especially fear, which robs me of joy, peace, relationships and most importantly freedom. I pray that God would help me in this journey to once again experience his peace without being bogged down by the chains of fear and worry. I know that as I seek God it will take perseverance and self-control to break myself of this horrible habit that I have put in my life – but I am determined to experience the freedom that Christ has for me. I will choose to not entertain these thoughts any longer.

What is controlling you? What are you allowing to hold you down when God tells us that we have received a spirit of sonship – we are God’s child and he desires for us to call out to our Father – asking him to free us from the chains that entangle us – allowing ourselves to not let ANYTHING control us but Him.

..where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom" 2 Corinthians 3:17

Spring Cleaning and Hair Help

Ok...so let me explain me what my life is like right now.

Everyday after work I come home change clothes (from work clothes to comfy lounge clothes) and head over to Luke's apartment to hang out with him for the evening. I hardly ever spend time in my room. I come home change clothes, go to Luke's come back home, go to bed and start over. Basically what I'm trying to say is I never pay attention to what my room looks like. The other night I came home opened my door and this is what I found:
No, my room was not broken in to, nor did anybody come in, ransack it and then run out - this is simply how I left it (although I have no recollection of how this happened). So, I thought to myself "well it is already messy I might as well pack up my winter clothes and bring out my summer clothes" HA. Little did I know how long that would take. So about 3 hours later I finished packing up my winter clothes and getting out my summer clothes - here is my closet after the summer clothes came out. (By the way, I am having my annual Megan Gives Away A Lot of Clothes - if you are interested stay tuned)
So 2 hours later I had a semi-clean (as close as it can get with everything I own crammed into one room) room and a nice organized closet.

OK SO on to the important things in life: HAIR. I really wanted to make sure that my blog did not become all about my wedding - but this is a wedding question and I am need of some serious advice. Dear Friends I NEED YOU!

OK so here is the dilemma: Should I wear my hair UP or DOWN at my wedding? I know, I know, the serious things in life. Last night I had this great post written about what God is currently teaching me but I didn't post - too serious, this blog is for hair. (I'm totally joking I plan on posting it soon). Anyways I digress, so UP or DOWN? This is what I was thinking for UP I would wear it low and loose - nothing too stuffy. For DOWN I was thinking half up and curly.
Here is a picture of me with it up - this is from 2 years ago and it wouldn't be this exact style but you get the general idea

I don't have any pictures of me with it half way up and curly (and by that I mean I don't have any pictures that I want to put on here with it half way up) so just look at my engagement pictures below and imagine it (I have faith in you).

Here is kind of what I was thinking though: This is a picture of Jessica Simpson on her wedding day - I know these pictures no longer apply to her life but just look at the hair.
Sooooo what do you think?
*If it helps you my dress is strapless, I can send you a link to it if you need to see it, but I'm not going to put a picture of it on here for obvious reasons*

I know this wasn't the most interesting post but HELP!!!! (please)

Weekend Update

The weekly weekend update:

The first part of this weekend was spent traveling: 1st to see my family and then up to see

Luke's family. I took the day off on Friday so after I woke up (much later than I wanted to) we headed out on the road to begin our weekend adventure.

Friday about an hour after our adventure began I had my hand out the window just letting it blow in the wind while singing alone with the music (I'm sure it wasn't anything good - when we are in Luke's car he gets to choose the music - sick.) anyways..... I had my hand out the window when all of a sudden I felt TREMENDOUS pain - Luke had rolled up the window on my hand!!!!!!!!! He says it was an accident - I think it was a plot to get me to stop singingl. After I stopped singing and dried my tears I pulled out my camera to document the injury - Just in case I need it in the future

As I was taking this picture I heard Luke mumble under his breath "stupid blog" HA! It made me laugh.

So after the near loss of my right hand we finally made it!
Here is Luke and I with Baby Maxton: (yes, Luke has the remote in his hand - he was real interested in the baby for about the first 2 minutes then he was tuned in to ESPN)

After our visit at my parents house we ventured up to Luke's house and spent Saturday with his parents. We went and picked out the tuxes which is a BIG relief! Only a couple more big tasks to take care of and then we can get married!

I hope everyone is enjoying the Memorial Day Weekend. We are watching Star Wars: Return of the Jedi right now - I just keep thinking how cute little Hayden Christensen is underneath that mean Darth Vader mask.

Here are some cute pictures:

Allergies, American Idol, and Ulcers

So I have been at a loss for words lately. It could be due to stress. Once again I have random thoughts going through my head, for the sake of a new post I will share my random thoughts:

- How do you scratch the inside of your ear? My ears itch so badly due to all of the pollen floating through the air and shaking my finger furiously in my ear doesn't seem to do the trick. Any suggestions?

- I think David A. on American Idol is the cutest little thing ever. Is it bad that I cried tonight when he started crying? When he sang the words "my boo" my heart just melted.

- I think I have an ulcer. If you are a Dr. and you somehow stumbled across this blog consider this a divine appointment and diagnose me: My stomach hurts all the time. ALL the time. What does that mean?

- I love Ryan Seacrest. always have, probably always will - even though he needs to stop tanning in the tanning bed.

- What is it about boys who sing that makes them cute? Self Disclosure: When I was in high school I had a crush on my worship leader - I am now marrying a worship leader. Coincidence? Don't worry I fell in love with him before he was a worship leader - I'm with him for more than his vocal chords. But really - a boy can be average looking BUT, put him behind a guitar and microphone and girls wil go crazy over him. Now there are high schools girls who have crushes on Luke. My life has come full circle.

- I still haven't ordered my wedding cake. My stomach is hurting again. Coincidence?

Seriously if you read all of this you are amazing, or bored. I will have more interesting blog posts coming soon - tonight the goal is to get in bed before midnight. Goodnight.

Jumping Through the Weekend

This weekend was another beautiful weekend! I just love all these great weekends!

Friday night Luke and I went and saw the movie Baby Mama. It was funny. You should go see it. We also managed to eat a large bag of popcorn and drink two Route 44 cokes. We are disgusting. We were both tempted to go take advantage of the free refill offer the theater gives you when you buy a large popcorn, but we didn't admit it to each other until after we left the theater or we probably would have finished off another bag of popcorn! Thank goodness for feeling shameful!

Saturday we went and found presents for our mothers to give them on Mothers Day.

Sunday we headed to the town of my family and had a great day of hanging out and visiting with the fam. It was such a great day that we spent most of it outside. At one point Luke disappeared (not unusual, he is usually in his own world). I went to the side of the house and found him jumping on the trampoline. So Haley and I decided this a good idea and decided to join him: Here are some pics from that event:

Let the jumping fun begin!

More jumping fun. Luke kept trying to 'double bounce' me. This terrified me as a child when all the neighborhood kids would do it to me -and apparently still scares me. Haley is laughing at me in this picture. I don't look that far up, but when you are in the air it feels a lot higher!

This is Haley and I waiting to take a picture with Luke

This is me CLEARLY growing impatient with Luke, and asking him to please stand up for the picture. He said this picture is the story of his life. I don't know what he means by that.

This is me attempting to do a 'back drop' I promise I used to be able to do one in my younger years.

So much fun! Luke looks like he is doing a little dance in this picture. Not sure what that is about.

All in all it was a great weekend! It was a great way to spend Mothers Day. Happy Mothers Day Mom. I love you!

No Words

So it has been a week since I last posted.

But for once in my life I have nothing to say. Weird.

I don't want to keep my blog readers waiting anymore. (all 3 of you)

So I will leave you with one of our engagement pictures with our good friend Robert. We asked him to sing at the wedding - we never heard back from him.
